Nygren family celebrates daughter Kara’s wedding at their property, The Inn at Serenbe.
We were so thrilled when Kara Nygren reached out to us to plan her wedding at her family’s resort and property, The Inn at Serenbe. Kara grew up in the residence which now houses the Inn’s restaurant and main accommodations, so it holds a very special place in her heart. Upon getting engaged, Kara knew she would be planning her nuptials from her current home in Seattle, all the way across the country in her childhood home at Serenbe.
The Nygrens wanted a laid-back, flowing and ethereal vibe to complement Serenbe’s natural rustic setting. When your family owns the property where you get married you are entitled to certain perks, which included the clearing of an area of the forrest just up the hill from the animal sanctuary. This was the first (and only!) time someone has been married in the trees just a short walk from the reception setting in the meadow. Guests leisurely strolled through the animal village making their way to the ceremony pausing first to visit the country lemonade stand. The bridal party walked by gravel path to the ceremony site from the families home located in the Serenbe community. The bridal party processed through the pines followed by the beautiful entrance of our bride and her father. Steve had envisioned this entrance for his daughter, and the end result was breathtaking to watch.
Following the ceremony guests made their way back down the dirt path to the meadow where cocktails and hors d’ouevres were being passed, and took time to pose in the photo booth. Following cocktail hour, guests were invited into the tented reception space for dinner and dancing. The dancing was kicked off by the traditional hora; then to complete the night, the bride surprised the groom by having the band play the fight song for the Pittsburgh Steelers and customized terrible towels were handed out for everyone to wave.
Pracitcally the entire community of Serenbe was involved in Kara and Micah’s wedding and wanted to show their support the Nygrens; from the wedding cake which was sourced from local bakery, Blue Eyed Daisy, to the ceremony musicans who regularly play at the Serenbe showhouse, to the decor team who is also local to the Serenbe community – everyone came together to create a magical night for the family.
